Where do we get our trash?

  NA

The goal of Bali Creative Reuse Center is to collect waste from local businesses, organizations, schools, and families.   Currently, we make weekly collections from about 10 local businesses that range from local warungs (food stands), framers, seamstresses, and other restaurants.    There are other monthly and one time donations made but most trash collected is from the families who visit our center and come weekly to drop off their clean reusable waste.  These materials are packaged in activity kits or sold in bulk to teachers, artists, and families.

We accept materials like fabric, wood scraps, plastic pieces, buttons, cardboard tubes, cardboard and plastic packaging, mylar or aluminium packaging, bubble wrap, plastic and metal bottle caps, straws, ribbon, reusable paper and magazines, plastic netting, plastic and cardboard egg cartons, cardboard and plastic milk containers, cans, limited glass and plastic bottles, matte board, old photos, cardboard boxes, and other clean reusable trash.  Our current concern in Bali is collecting and researching ways to dispose and reuse mylar (aluminum packaging).  Bali, currently does not have any source of recycling for this highly used material found in many snack packaging.  We research and provide information to the local and expat communities about ways to reduce, reuse, recycle, and find community resources that support environmentally friendly ways to dispose of waste.

Come and drop in to our space or purchase a monthly membership to use our center as a place to create and learn ways to reuse these materials.  For the expat community, we offer a 20% discount off membership fees when you drop off a large bag of clean donated reusable trash.  For the local community, we offer Clean Trash exchange for free memberships.
